The Georgia Tech Army ROTC began in 1917 with two authorized units, the Infantry and Coast Artillery. Two years later, a Signal Corp was established, and Air Service, Motor Transport, and Ordnance units were added by 1921. The Georgia Institute of Technology, commonly referred to as Georgia Tech or Tech, was founded on October 13, 1885 as the Georgia School of Technology.
